Frequently Asked Questions

I am an amateur boxer and I want to turn professional - what do I do?
If you are an amateur boxer who wants to turn professional contact Damian Jones, who will arrange for you to come down to the gym and do some training sessions. If after these sessions it is decided that you have the ability and commitment to turn professional Damian will explain what you need to do in order to become a professional boxer.

I want to turn professional but have never boxed as an amateur - what do I do?
It is always advisable to take part in some amateur boxing contests before embarking on a professional career. If you have some experience in other combat sports - such as muay thai, kick boxing or MMA - you may be able to go straight into professional boxing. If you have no experience in any combat sports then you should contact your local amateur boxing club and get some experience with them first. Visit our amateur boxing pages for more information.

I want to turn professional but I work during the day - can I train at night?
Yes. All of Astley V.I.P's professional boxers train in the evening and at weekends.

I am a local company that would like to sponsor Astley V.I.P Pro Boxing
We are always on the look out for local companies that would like to help us and our boxers through sponsorship. If you are interested then please contact Damian Jones to discuss the options.
