20/03/2012 - Masher on Big Aintree Bill Sean "Masher" Dodd will have his second pro fight on the big British Heavyweight Title bill at Aintree Racecourse on Saturday 19th May. Tickets priced £40 will be available from Sean and the Birkenhead Venture Gym soon. |
19/03/2012 - Glasgow Curse Strikes Again Colwyn Bay Light Welterweight Lee Quinn put on a good performance in Glasgow tonight losing out by 58pts-56pts to the more experienced former British Masters Champion Mitch Prince. Quinn did score a knockdown in the final round but was just outworked by his stocky Scottish opponent. |
10/03/2012 - Almost an Upset! Chester Welterweight Joe Lovell might have lost his unbeaten record in Glasgow tonight but he gained a lot of admirers with his performance against Frank Warren's unbeaten star John Thain. Lovell eventually lost out by just one point after a brilliant contest. |

06/03/2012 - What a Weekend!!! Astley V.I.P had six boxers in action this weekend and enjoyed five wins and a draw. At Doncaster Dome on Friday night super featherweight Joe Rodgers scored a good points win over the reliable Pavels Senkovs. The final score of 40pts - 36pts was a good reflection of Joe's dominance of the contest as he controlled the pace well with good movement and effective use of the jab, mixing in body punches as Senkovs covered up on the ropes. Then on Saturday night we rocked Chester's Northgate Arena with wins for Joe Lovell, Paul Davies, Sean Lewis and Sean Dodd. Probably the most impressive result of the weekend though went to Lee Quinn who drew with former Midlands title challenger Rob Hunt, despite only having one professional contest to his name compared to Hunt's seventeen! |

19/12/2011 - Winning End to 2011 2011 ended successfully for Astley V.I.P Pro Boxing with Lee Bennett and Johnnie Ward both returning from long injury absences to stretch their unbeaten records. Bennett scored a points victory over Andrew Patterson in what has been described as the "small hall fight of the year" at Colne Municipal Hall. Then on the annual V.I.P Jolly Boys Christmas show Ward beat the very tough Paul Morris on points for his third straight victory since turning professional. |

More Signings for Astley V.I.P - Damian Jones is excited to announce the signing of Chester's undefeated Joe Lovell to a management contract. Joe is trained by Peter Buckley and is currently 2-0 in the welterweight division. Astley V.I.P has also formed a partnership with Birkenhead Venture Gym and has signed two of their boxers to contracts. Two-time national champion Sean Dodd is joined by gym mate Sean Lewis.

Three More Boxers Join Astley V.I.P - We are pleased to announce that we have teamed up with North Wales trainer Shane Thomas and signed three of his boxers to two year contracts. Lightweight Paul Davies is joined by amateur gym mates Cameron Halfpenny and Lee Quinn.

Joe Rodgers Signs! - Sheffield's two-time national champion Joe Rodgers has signed a two year contract with Damian Jones. Joe will be trained by Jamie Kennedy in Rotherham.
